Film synopsis

If you had a second chance at life … what would you change?Beautiful 24-year old Veronika Deklava (Sarah Michelle Gellar, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) has a great job and a New York City apartment, but nevertheless decides to end her life by overdosing on sleeping pills. Her suicide attempt fails and she emerges from her coma at a psychiatric institution directed by the unorthodox Dr. Blake (David Thewlis, Harry Potter series). She is informed that her overdose caused irreparable heart damage and that she only has a couple of weeks to live. As the days pass, Veronika falls in love with schizophrenic patient Edward (Jonathan Tucker, An Englishman in New York). With little left to lose, Veronika embarks on a journey in which she frees herself to experience relationships and feelings of love and hate, and ultimately discovers what it means to live. A powerful film based on the best-selling book by acclaimed writer Paulo Coelho.
