The Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia has announced that Patrick has been selected for its 2013 line-up. Held in Spain 11-20 October, Patrick is one of only five Australian films chosen to be screened. The remake of Richard Franklin’s 1970s thriller Patrick, directed by Mark Hartley and produced by Antony I Ginnane, who also worked on the original release, the film will have its European premiere in the Official Fantàstic Galas section of the festival. Starring Charles Dance. Rachel Griffiths and Sharni Vinson, the feature film tells the story of a comatosed patient in a clinic, who learns to harness his pent-up power with deadly effect.
Sitges is the number one fantasy film festival in the world. Now in it’s 46th year, it annually attracts 110,000 visitors plus around 700 industry attendees.
